NSSD provides skill development and performance opportunities at all levels of training for the dedicated, recreational, and pre-professional dancer. Our extensive syllabi and class leveling enables each dancer to better comprehend the materials and vocabulary before advancing. Individuals are personally guided by experienced faculty members and directors to create a proper class schedule that allows each student to perfect their technique and build proper strength by allowing their natural talents to adapt to the technique.
The North Shore School of Dance offers over 100 classes per week at all levels of training. From pre-school through adults, we offer classes in traditional and contemporary styles of dance. Our renowned faculty members are dedicated to inspiring and educating each individual. North Shore School of Dance is proud to continue in the legacy of integrity and professionalism that has lasted over 40 years.
North Shore School of Dance holds four productions every year. The Nutcracker, Pre-Dance Showcase, Spring Concert of Dance, and Spring Ensemble Performance allows students to display their growth, dedication, and performance qualities in formal and informal settings. Our productions allow each dancer to gain performance experience, which promotes a higher self esteem and confidence within themselves.
I am truly amazed at each year the professionalism, choreography, and level of performances...You have created such a wonderful atmosphere with such quality teachers, friendly support and a wonderful group of girls that love to dance together. We are all so proud that our children are a part of your school. Thank you for creating a home away from home!"
Madelyn & Taylor (students)
Schools of dance are only as good as the teachers they have on their faculty because it is the individual teacher who develops and trains each dance student. Lisa Gold’s North Shore School of Dance has an unparalleled reputation on the Shore for providing its students with the finest teachers available in the Chicago area in all forms of dance, many of whom are associated with our most prestigious dance companies. NSSD maintains its rich lineage of dance education that spans nearly 35 years of outstanding service to the community through its training of young aspiring dance students on the North Shore. It is a school of high integrity and professionalism."

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the time you've put in for my girls. I really appreciate the thought you've given to them-that really is one of the things that sets NSSD apart from other studios."
Natalie & Anna (Students)
North Shore School of Dance has provided a wonderful dance education....you made her feel just as valued and special as the stronger girls. That says a great deal to both of you (Lisa Gold & Tonya Wibbenmeyer) and how you run your program."
Allison ('13) & Hillary (Students)
I'm in New York at the Joffrey contemporary intensive right now and one of the teachers asked me where I'm from and where I danced because she wanted to know the studio I go to based on my good training and technique! So thank you for training me well!"
